This is one of two paintings with a Merit Award in the annual “PaintMeMiami” competition in 2017. (Above: Brickell Skyline, acrylic on panel, 24 x 36 inches.
I wanted to capture the city where I grew up, the city that I still call home. Miami has undergone many upheavals both by man and nature and still remains a magical place with allure for every type of wanderer. It is a city filled with life and yet, you can also find a quiet corner of your own. I will continue to paint recognizable places and some not so recognizable, of my city. There is always something waiting to be discovered, captured, or brought to life in a new light in the 305.
